Hidrostan® in EPDM: The Ultimate Solution for Tank and Reservoir Recovery
Hidrostan® EPDM membranes are the ideal solution for rehabilitating old concrete, glass resin, steel, and firefighting tanks that have leaks or cracks that are difficult to fix. The best solution is to line them with pre-welded, pre-formed or pre-shaped sheets or welded in place with cold solutions.
Coating with Hidrostan® EPDM membranes avoids demolition and restoration with cements. Their chemical and physical characteristics ensure a perfect watertightness, and the availability of the different thicknesses, 0.70 - 1.00 -1.20 - 1.50 - 2.00 mm, leaves a wide freedom of design choices.

Hidrostan® EPDM membranes are the ideal product when working in confined environments such as in underground tanks or reservoirs , i.e., enclosed or partially enclosed spaces where flammable gases may be present, because their welding is done cold so without the need for open flames or hot air.
In reinforced concrete, carbonation has a negative effect and is one of the main causes of material degradation. In marine environments or in the presence of deicing salts, chlorine ions Cl-, due to their high solubility, can easily penetrate concrete. In areas with a pH above 9 (rich in lime), the solution causes the cementitious matrix to take on a pinkish coloration typical of phenolphthalein, while in basic environments it leaves those with a lower pH (carbonated concrete) colorless; under these conditions, before waterproofing with Hidrostan® EPDM membranes, it is necessary to intervene with concrete settlement.
Hidrostan® membrane in EPDM, is also supplied to size, with sheets pre-welded in-house and shipped to the construction site ready for use; for the applicator, this solution avoids waste and unnecessary loss of time. Fixing to the walls of the Hidrostan® EPDM membrane is ensured by mechanical fastening using a metal bar and dowels, anchored to the structure.
At the end of the vertical laying phase of the Hidrostan® EPDM membrane, proceed by laying the rest of the sheets on the ground, taking great care in the welding part of the sheets. The crossing lap of the vertical and orrizonal sheets should be done with an overlap of at least 20 cm
